FALL & RISE

AT KRAFTHAUS

A dark shadow hovers above our heads, like a vulture waiting for the right moment to sink its claws into our defenseless minds. An external shadow, born from work pressures, unrequited loves, and unfulfilled family expectations... or an internal one, shapeless yet powerful enough to shrink a heart, twist a stomach, or break a mind. These are the problems that haunt us constantly, within and beyond ourselves. Problems we must face; problems we must overcome—together.

Hug’s exhibition carries a rawness and strength that emerge from personal battles, allowing visitors to see themselves reflected within. It provokes an unavoidable confrontation with one’s own inner obstacles. It recalls that moment in your life when fear—whether external or intrinsic—took hold of your body and froze it in place.

Hug cries out to the collective about a painfully widespread problem, one whose solution lies not only in personal struggle but in shared resilience. The project’s ambition is to invite viewers to seek help, to lean on others, and to face—together—the epidemic of depression that affects so many. The artist’s intent is not to silence these struggles, nor to fight them violently, but to reach a state of acceptance: to dive into the void, emerge aware of one’s obstacles, coexist with them, and express them without fear. The goal is not victory, but transcendence.
