PROBLEMS
Problems is an installation and performance that addresses the constant presence of problems in everyday life — those that pursue, trap, and suffocate us, whether real or self-inflicted. Invisible yet pervasive, problems transform the spaces we inhabit into hostile territories, turning existence into a continuous obstacle course. Rooted in personal experience but speaking to a universal condition, the work explores how mental and emotional burdens colonize the body, the environment, and our perception of the world.
The piece is structured around six suspended spheres made of black leather gloves filled with recycled yarn, each representing a fundamental pillar of life: love, friendship, family, work, money, and health. These looming forms, with open palms and grasping gestures, evoke hands waiting to seize. The installation reshapes the space into an unstable and threatening landscape, where problems mutate, grow, and intensify as they align, contaminating other areas of life and eroding any sense of stability.
Activated through audience interaction, Problems comes to life as visitors move through the space, setting the spheres into motion. Their oscillations, collisions, and imbalance mirror the way problems behave in reality — following us, destabilizing us, and multiplying when confronted. The work invites viewers to physically experience what is often internal and unseen, confronting how emotional weight alters the way we navigate the world, and reminding us that while problems never take the same form, their impact is universally shared.
